Dwellings was founded in 2001 by Dick Swenson, a seasoned, knowledgeable realtor and broker with a reputation for treating clients like family. Dick’s caring and real estate know-how became the hallmark of Dwellings Realty and we have been family owned and client-focused for nearly 20 years. In 2012, we brought Dwellings into the Keller Williams family and since then have continued the legacy Dick established by bringing knowledge and caring to every client experience. We know buying or selling a home is more than just a transaction to you and we treat every client with the same level of concern and thoroughness that we would a member of our own family.
ORIGINS:
Dick Swenson, our father/grandfather and founder, grew up along the shores of Lake Minnetonka and knew every bay and bog surrounding it. Whether fishing from shore or boat, he loved that lake. It’s not surprising that after countless moves throughout his career as a Chief E8 in the Naval Air and as a Plant Manager for Johnson Screens, he returned home to the lake, land and people he loved. He applied all he had learned selling and buying homes in all those transitions to helping other families with their own moves. It was the verse in Isaiah 32:18 that charted his course and defined his passion in real estate: “My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.” In all the family’s uprooting and rerooting, our HOME always remained a place of security, peace and rest. Wherever we were as a family, we made our house a home, a place where hospitality and welcome awaited all who entered.
PURPOSE/MISSION:
In 2004, Dwellings Real Estate was born. Dick’s purpose for establishing Dwellings continues today: Our mission is to help people find their own “home”, their peaceful dwelling place and have a trusted ally, someone who treats them like family, to see them through. We are a third generation legacy team dedicated to helping families build their own legacy one household at a time with the level of service and integrity you would expect from family, those who care about you the most.

We will show the highest level of care, taking time to uncover the needs and wants of our clients while honoring their time, money and resources along the way with the highest level of communication.
